Christopher Zaffiro is a co-founder and partner in Praetorio Protection Group, a licensed private investigation, executive protection, and special event security firm.

A retired NYPD Captain with over 20 years of service, he held leadership roles in more than a dozen assignments. Having been directly responsible for the daily performance of hundreds of officers and their supervisors, he developed a deep experience in public safety, risk assessment, and complex policing functions.

Over the course of his career, Christopher managed police responses in some of the most disadvantaged and violent neighborhoods as well as in several of the most affluent. The wide spectrum of geographies and demographics demanded him to be adaptable, culturally aware, and decisive to achieve meaningful results. His broad background includes overseeing discrete long-term undercover operations, as well as the very conspicuous directing of field personnel during large-scale demonstrations—sometimes involving thousands of participants.

Christopher holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, bringing a nuanced understanding of social, legal, and organizational challenges- further informing his insightful approach to security and investigations.
